A market built on dignity
The Turkey Harvest Market is set up as a market, not a handout line. Families receive fresh turkeys, gift cards and essential holiday food items through a market-style distribution that promotes choice, respect, dignity and accessibility. Volunteers, nonprofits, school partners, elected officials, city leaders and public safety agencies work alongside generous donors to make it happen.
Participants are also connected to supportive services and community resources. See the full Turkey Harvest Market program on our Programs page.
Carrying forward John J. Kennedy’s legacy
The market is named in honor of the late Hon. John J. Kennedy, a respected leader and advocate for the Pasadena community. For more than a decade before his passing, he led efforts that served over 1,800 families each year.
CWVV President and CEO Lena Louise Kennedy said it simply on our Programs page: “Thank you, thank you, thank you for your continued support. John relied on your generosity each year, and I am hopeful you will continue to stand with us as we carry forward his mission.”
